What Will Item Upgrade Be Like In 100 Years
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also added to each upgrade.
The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item upgrade level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.
The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items which can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. The button will show the preview of an item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item and the current Best item upgrade level. For example, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
Many locations have upgraders for their items, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be increased by having players complete specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades must be acquired through various methods, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. After an upgrade has been completed to a certain item level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This applies even if those items are from an entirely different set of gear.
The discount is available to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain achievement milestones.
Crests
When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a few choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item Level upgrade level upgrades. Crests are an important element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
The first thing to be aware of is that crests can only be spent on gear of a specific rank, and every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complicated requires as many as 20 crests depending on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.
The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it does bring some changes to the upgrade process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also important to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
