WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrading used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be bought by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon or armor. The button will display a preview of an item's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For instance, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item level Upgrade; bookmarkzones.trade, is upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Upgraders for items are available at many locations on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and a drawback.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and some new features added. Once the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This is true regardless of whether the items come from a different set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain achievement milestones.

Crests

Players have several options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade items. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that Crests are only available to gear with a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, depending on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses to obtain endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader for the item upgrade like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and paths.

The use of these currencies isn't too difficult, but the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's Best item upgrade to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the best equipment available and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to benefit from the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
